Which one should I choose? A, B, C, D or E? The last frame shows the painting in its current state.

This next painting is an actual event that I documented last year and it is the subject of my next painting. However, I want to change the position of one of the figures in the painting to show someone who is not engaged in the main activity as well as showing some remorse, regret or some emotion about the inhumanity that occurs in war, regardless of what side you choose.

An interesting aside, I went back to this location a few weeks ago. It is now a “Shoot the Guido” stand and the bin Laden pic remains.

I have roughly, and I do mean roughly, photoshopped a model into the photo. Which one do you like best? Mom and I just spoke and Mom likes C

I also do not want this figure to steal the show. A crucial piece in this equation, the pose should feel somewhat natural despite the addition of a figure showing an opposing and/or more dramatic position.

This piece will be finished just prior to Art Hop 2010.

What is your vote?

Coney Island Harmonica Case

Here is a harmonica case that I painted featuring all of the Coney Island landmarks such as Astroland Park, the Cyclone, the Wonder Wheel and the Parachute jump. The top features a “fat cat” or “knock down clown” and the bottom has a bullet signed and dated.

This will be part of a larger upcoming exhibition. Details to come….

Translation: The last day and I finished early! More garlic too!

Rather than crop my painting to a square, Martinho added more garlic on the left side of the composition. Now, we have a family of garlic. My iPhone is blowing out the whites in the pic. Let’s keep our fingers crossed to ensure that the painting makes the transatlantic journey unscathed.

I am making good progress here. This is first painting stage heading into second painting stage. There was a little sinking in but a quick “oil in” allowed me to get the remaining values at their correct value. The forms now turn or look more three-dimensional. Tomorrow, I will be working in second painting from this point forward.

Today, is St. John’s Day here, the patron saint of Florence. Calcio Storico was earlier and at around 10 pm, fireworks over the Arno. It is also Mom’s birthday

It is day 3 and here are the results. This is the dead coloring stage. Tomorrow, I will work on the pot to start adding depth and dimension.
