In my studio, while looking for my CD on shrunken heads, I found several CDs from grad school. On those CDs where all of the banner commission images I have been missing from 2000 – 2004. I did not even remember painting a mini sideshow banner of Gator Girl! It is rather funny timing because I was going to paint a large Gator Girl banner for my upcoming show. The Tattooed Temptress toured with Ozzfest 2000 and I can only chuckle at her broken foot Mighty Midget Death Diver has eluded me for 6 years and now, but he has been finally found. Loathsome Lazy, Klem’s cousin, is now available for all to see. There is a new addition to this creepy clown family and that is Vulgar. Born this past November, Vulgar is a disturbing addition to the fam.

When looking at my earlier banners from 1998, 2000, it is hard to believe that was almost a decade ago! Mini Twisted Sisters was a small oil painting I did for a client in Italy. I just wish I had a better picture of it.

Demon Creature, based on a client’s dog, has eyes and teeth that glow in the dark. I never told the client about the glow-in-the-dark eyes and teeth. I’m sure that glow-in-the-dark paint has faded by now. The glow-in-the-dark paint was invisible in light. I remember being really excited about this paint I bought at the Pearl on Canal Street. I have always wondered if they ever noticed.

Bindlestiff Family Circus banner has also been added to the sideshow banner gallery, along with many of my earliest banners.

I am only missing a few good pics of banners that I have painted over the years but I hope that you will enjoy the collection

A new year, a new site design (finally!) and a blog! The next year of this blog will be dedicated to the process documentation of the artwork that will be created in the coming year. After much contemplation, all of my previous artwork will be featured on one site regardless of whether it is a sideshow banner, an oil painting, a poster or a print. After learning some CSS and utilizing some handy plug-ins, I finally have a super easy way to update my website. Anyone looking at my previous source code for sangastiano.com and especially for sideshowbanners.com would be completely aghast

Here’s to an incredibly creative 2010! Salute!
