In 2010, the Shelburne Museum's Circus Day In America exhibition celebrated the golden age of the circus. The outdoor bannerline installation was commissioned by the museum and stood outside of their Circus Barn as the grand entrance.
This bannerline pays tribute to some of the most famous sideshow performers during the Victorian Era such as Tom Thumb and Cheng and Eng and includes a center banner tribute to the state of Vermont. As the bannerline progresses out from the center entrance, the sideshow banner acts as commentary on media & society.
